Walk For Fitness

Lime Tree Surgery Patient Participation Group led by Dr. David Hewett held their first “Walk For Fitness” at the Findon Surgery on the 19th July to celebrate 70 years of the NHS. More than 30 patients and staff enjoyed a walk on the Downs followed by tea and cake in the gardens of Lime Tree Surgery to celebrate NHS birthday.

Stop Press: Peter (co-ordinator for Lime Tree PPG Walking Group) attended a recent meeting with Ramblers organisation and staff from two other GP Surgeries, in Worthing, who want to set up “Walking for Health” groups.

The Rambles organisation have offered to run a one day training course in Worthing for the 3 patient groups to teach people how to organise and lead “Walks for Health.” The training course is free and will provide Lime Tree Surgery PPG walking group with third party liability insurance for those of our Walk Leaders who have completed their course.

The course will be run, at the Phoenix GP Surgery in Goring by Sea, on Monday 20th August from 9.30 till about 3.00 pm and will include a short demonstration walk.
